Your photo coach

I’m a full-time working photographer and photography coach.

I founded the Shutterbug Life community to help photographers of all levels grow their skills and connect with like-minded creatives.

Even before I can remember, I’ve always had a camera in my hand. My Dad was a photographer, so he passed on his love of photography. I believe he gave me my first camera at about age 7, and so began my love affair with photography.

My formal training began in college, where I pursued a degree in photojournalism, and continued in the Army, where I served as a photojournalist for eight years.

Today, I shoot portraits, events, and sports for North Jersey families and schools, using my marketing experience to help Local businesses and entrepreneurs tell their stories through purposeful, high-impact photography. From headshots to personal branding sessions, real estate to food and product photography, I create images that don’t just look good—they work hard for your brand. Every photo is crafted with your goals, message, and audience in mind.

I spent 20 years in PR & Marketing, and I’m the person who always convinced my bosses that the office needed a camera. Photography has been a constant in my career, even when I was in the corporate world. In 2010, I made the leap to teaching photography full-time.

One of my proudest accomplishments was leading the Canon Live Learning program at Canon USA, where I created workshops and classes across the country. I’ve taught over 600 workshops as an independent instructor, maintaining a 4.9/5 rating, and I’ve helped launch thousands of photography careers.

I also founded one of Washington, DC’s fastest-growing photography Meetups, which now has nearly 4,000 members. And, for a little extra fun, I hosted the Shutterbug Life podcast, where I shared 101 episodes with a perfect 5-star rating.

On the marketing side, I spent two decades managing communications for Fortune 500 companies. Crafting stories and visuals that resonate has always been second nature, thanks to my photojournalism background and PR experience. Visual storytelling is where my heart is, and it’s what fuels everything I do.
